Jacky Forsyth, PhD

Bio

Jacky Forsyth, PhD, has had a remarkable career in exercise physiology that has spanned over two decades. Her work primarily focuses on women’s exercise physiology, and her ambition is to enhance women’s health and fitness. Jacky’s journey in academia has been rich and diverse, including significant roles such as an associate professor and honorary fellow, with scholarly contributions to publications addressing the crucial intersection of exercise and women’s health, particularly around menopause and bone health.


Expertise

Jacky’s expertise lies in a profound understanding of exercise physiology, particularly in relation to women’s health. She earned her PhD from Liverpool John Moores University, an MPhil from the University of St. Andrews, and a BA (Hons) with Qualified Teacher Status in physical education and geography from the University of Warwick. She has practical experience in sports science support, co-authored “The Exercising Female: Science and Its Application” and numerous peer-reviewed articles, is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and has been involved with several projects, such as European Women in Sport.
